How to connect you TrackR device to your smartphone & TrackR troubleshooting

Recently made a post on how to track a lost car with the TrackR device using you smartphone, then made a promise to post a tutorial on how to connect the device to your smartphone.

NB; the TrackR device uses your phone Bluetooth signal to track your device. It requires no internet or GPS service for operation.

For all type of smartphone; android, blackberry, windows,ios e.t.c

Step 1
One the screen menu, select settings; navigate to Bluetooth and toggle it on.



Step 2
Now search for your TrackR device and click on pair.



Press OK to verify the pairing process.

Just like the normal way phones are paired using Bluetooth signal

How does the TrackR device work?

The TrackR is made in a way that it stays on and running for a period of 1 or near to a year until the battery dies out, it has no Button to switch it off, to off it one have to remove the battery; the battery Jack is located by the side of the device.

How to repair or troubleshoot the TrackR device

Step 1
Remove the battery from the device by pulling out the battery tray by the side.

Step 2
Click on setting from the menu screen.

Step 3
Navigate to apps or app manager



Step 4
Select the Bluetooth or the Bluetooth scanner that powers the TrackR device, It has the TrackR logo on it. See image above.

Step 5
Click on the force stop button,click OK to verify.



Scroll down and select clear data, click OK if asked to delete application data.



Go back to previous menu (app manager) and select the TrackR application downloaded from play store or any other smartphone official app download site.

Force close the and clear application catche. Lunch and connect the app, if it did not connect; delete and reinstall the TrackR app.

Now connect it as usual.

Browse on your PC using your Android smartphone as Internet Modem

As a blogger the internet is my second home and place, I can say am making use of this tutorial am about to drop to your awareness and understanding as am going to break it down in detail with screenshot from my phone.


Am here to show you how to browse with your laptop using your phone as an internet modem


Without any software application, simply with the use of my phone and a USB wire, there is no lagging in Nework signal, no interruption, no extra charge and it is money saving and fun. Since I discovered this am no more making use of my modem to browse; just left it behind till when I need it,who knows when?; I feel like am regretting the reason I bought a modem because I did not make long use of it, I think is time to sell it and save some money for my self.

How to browse in your laptop using your phone as internet modem.

All you need is an android operating sytem phone, your laptop and a USB wire.



Click the menu Icon of your phone to locate the setting button.

Step 1

Click on the setting button to locate More under wireless and network option.


Step 2

Click on more for another menu to select another option.


Step 3

Select Terthering and portable hot-spot.


Step 4

Now this is the last option to choose, from another menu; three option will be displayed for you to select one according to the tutorial.

Now select USB tethering.

You can hid it under your car, boot, foot match e.t.c.

To locate or track your car; simply lunch the TrackR application and click the Find Button, you will been shown the distance and exact location of your car.
